| Dr. Lee speculates that western women
started to suffer from a progesterone deficiency (estrogen dominance) as a result of our
modern way of life and the excessive estrogenic substances in the air and in the food we
eat. He suggests that ovaries stop making progesterone prematurely and the adrenal cortex
and brain are forced to pick up 100% of progesterone production to produce corticosteroids
and there isn’t much progesterone left over for other functions such as balancing
estrogen levels. He comments that the adrenals in many women are so depleted they
can’t even make enough progesterone to make the corticosteroids which he suggests is
an important factor in the chronic fatigue syndrome which is so prevalent in women in
their mid thirties and early forties. |
Natural progesterone is natural because it
is the identical molecule to that manufactured by the human body. When natural
progesterone supplements are taken there are no side effects.
Synthetic progesterone (normally referred to as progestin, commonly use
a HRT) are drugs which are manufactured by drug companies and are normally available by
prescription only. The molecule of the synthetic progesterone is close enough to the
natural progesterone that it seeks out and resides in the progesterone receptacles in the
body. This version of progesterone (provera is the most common of them) are not natural to

Apply once or twice a day as needed.
